Helambu lies in Sindhupalchowk district, about 72 km Northeast from Kathmandu. Scenic grandeur, favorable climate, easy access and low elevations and natural & cultural diversity make the Helambu trek a very attractive tourist destination.

Helambu can be a perfect place for a short introduction to trekking in Nepal.  Stunning mountain views of the Jugal Himal and Rolwaling ranges keeps you energized all the time. Sunrise and sunset seen over the Himalayas from Sermathang (the most popular tourist destination of the area) are quite extraordinary. Helambu is also well known for its sweet delicious apples.

The place is inhabitant to the Hyolmo community, an ancient ethnic group that exhibits many similarities to both the Tibetan and Nepali culture but yet is unique in its own way. Every year thousands of tourists visit this destination to enjoy the natural beauty and the warm hospitality of Hyolmo people. Helambu allows you to observe ancient Buddhist monasteries, Ghumbas and experience local Buddhist culture closely.
