The Everest region is our most popular trekking destination in Nepal. It is difficult to reach this destination on foot compared to other regions. Hence, most visitors prefer a forty minute flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, where there is a small air strip on an angled runway at 2,860 m. The Everest region begins by walking to all the major trekking destinations like Everest base camp, the Gokyo, the Mera summit, the island summit, or Mount Everest itself. Flight to Lukla is the fastest way to get access to the Khumbu region. The Annapurna region lies west of the Everest region near Pokhara.
The region of Solukhumbu or Everest region is famous for the highest mountain in the world, Mt. Everest 8,848.84 m above sea level. This region is not only one of the most visually impressive regions on earth bu also the people, villages, monasteries and huge mountains will surely make you want to visit this area again and again.
It is important to prepare for a high altitude hike and be aware of the risks involved in traveling to altitudes where oxygen is well below sea level. For example, there is 50% less oxygen in Everest Base Camp than at sea level, where on the summit of Mount Everest there is only 33% of the oxygen we breathe at sea level. Our trained guides and our comprehensive training advices will help you with your optimal preparation.
