A 15km drive from Kathmandu will take you to Sundarijal. On arrival at Sundarijal, you can visit Shivapuri Watershed and Wild life Reserve. From Sundarijal, the trail heads up to the concrete steps beside the pipeline which supply drinking water for the valley. We leave the pipeline near the dam, and then on to Mulkharka, trekking to the ridge at around 1,895m, some 600m above Sundarijal. There you can relax in the convenient tea shops, and enjoy the view back over the valley. We will then continue walking to Chisapani (2300m).
From Chisopani the trail leads down to Pati Bhanjyang (1,770m), a lovely small village. After reaching Pati Bhanjyang, the trail leads up and then down to the village of Gul Bhanjyang (2,140m). From here the trails climbs up to 2,620m and then again descends along the rocky route to Khutumsang
Following a ridge line, the trail will continue via lightly populated forest to Magen Goth from where the view of Langtang and Gosaikund peak is stunning, and finally the trail will take us to Tharepati. This walk is one of the best ridge walks among all treks in Nepal. The trails to Gosaikunda branches off northwest from here.
Turning east, we will descend down a ravine through small Sherpa village of Malemchi Gaon (2,530m) that has splendid lodges and fine old and artistic Gompas. The trail again descends leaving the village and crossing Melamchi Khola by a bridge at 1,890m and making the long climb up the other side of the valley to Tarke Gyang, which is the largest village in Helambu.
Today we will descend through a beautiful forest to Sermathang. It is the center of an important apple growing area from where a fantastic view of the Himalayan ranges can be seen.
Today you will explore Sermathang village to observe the local culture, lifestyle and customs of people residing there
Today you will proceed towards Melamchi Bazaar. This village has good collection of teahouses and lodges and all kinds of road transportation. From here, you will be driven back to Kathmandu. Upon reaching Kathmandu, rest of the day is free for relaxation and shopping
Farewell and final departure to the airport.
